Every school and academy is required to adopt and to publicise a complaints procedure. The law does not specify what the process should be; academy procedures are more prescriptive.
Complaints can be one of the most difficult issues a school has to deal with. If not handled well in the early stages they can become protracted, adversarial and have the potential for further legal action.
By the end of this session participants will have a better understanding of:
- the principles of good complaint handling
- the options for appropriate procedures
and will be equipped to participate in a fair complaints procedure
