Designated Safeguarding Leads Training – 26 June 2019
Safeguarding for Designated Teachers (Designated Safeguarding Leads)
This course gives an overview of safeguarding and child protection for DSLs including their specific responsibilities. It will also provide up to date information following any recent changes to national guidance or developments in this area, including lessons to be learned from recent Serious Case Reviews (nationally and locally), as well as covering the legal and procedural framework for safeguarding pupils. Attending this session will enable all DSLs to fulfil the training requirement outlined in the Department of Education Statutory Guidance “Keeping Children Safe In Education” September 2018.
In response to continued high demand, six courses will be available throughout the academic year (as it was for 2017/18), including morning and twilight sessions plus another specifically for independent schools.
Trainer: The trainer for the sessions will be Hilary Shaw, Bi Borough Safeguarding, Child Protection, Schools and Education Manager
