Guardians of the Future
A full day seminar for Deputy Head Teachers and Assistant Head Teachers, Wednesday 3 July, 9.30 to 4.30
Hosted by St George’s Hanover Square Primary School, South Street, London W1K 2XH
If you consider your life overwhelmingly busy and stressful, your work/life balance non-existent, all while feeling sleep deprived, this conference is the right place to be for you. Lifestyle Cardiologist Dr Zarrin Shaikh practices the magic of restoring you to the “self” you love and probably miss, without judgement or guilt! Dr Zarrin Shaikh writes:
“Teaching is an incredibly rewarding profession. A teacher nurtures young minds, encourages them to believe in themselves and ignites a spark that gives hope for achieving their highest potential. They get a special, privileged insight into the world of growing, inquisitive minds and from this unique position, they inspire the future leaders and shapers of our world. It is for these incredible reasons that they hold the keys to unlocking how the world is shaped. Teachers are the Guardians of the Future!
What then happens if teachers themselves are not nurtured? What happens if through looking after their students, they neglect themselves? Quite often, this leads to stress, anxiety and burn out. Teaching then goes from a job once loved, to a job that is endured. Sadly, it is at this point that ill health often follows. This does not have to be the case. This can be prevented.
This one-day seminar will cover the following topics:
- Blue Zones – journey to areas of the world that have the highest longevity with good health. What are their secrets? Is there a formula?
- Stress, sleep, stress! What is stress? How does it develop? What are the physiological consequences of it? What’s the impact of sleep on health, wellbeing and stress?
- Finally, techniques and methods for stress reduction that not only reduce stress but increase happiness and promote overall health. This will include a summary of top lifestyle tips for healthy and high-impact Guardians of the Future!”
