How to be an effective Governing Body – 13 February 2019

This course is an opportunity to clarify the roles and responsibilities of the school governor/governing  board and learn how to carry these out effectively to support the improvement of the outcomes in school. Learn how to develop the governors strategic role and explore how to challenge the school by  monitoring and evaluation and asking pertinent questions.

Governors will have a clear idea of the role and responsibilities of the governing board and individual governors. They will understand the governor’s strategic roles and how to challenge and hold the Headteacher and their staff to account by asking probing questions, understanding monitoring and evaluation and being supportive of initiatives.
