Governor Induction is delivered in two parts

Every new governor should have a governor induction to support them in that journey and to ensure they are equipped to contribute effectively to the governance of the school, have the skills to provide challenge and have guidance on understanding the statutory duties of of a board.

The New Governor Induction will be delivered over two sessions and covers:

• An introduction to the role of a governor and the governance frameworks that underpin the board’s activities.
• The pillars of effective governance, and the three core functions of a governing body.
• The different structures of governance.
• The governance competences and the training and support available to develop as an effective governor, including access to resources.

Registered participants are expected to attend both sessions (Part 1 & 2).

Microsoft Teams joining instructions will be sent out 4 hours in advance of the training session.
