In this session, NQTs will explore the teaching sequence for writing, moving pupils from reading into writing and from modelled and shared to independent writing. They will discuss the importance of using good quality texts as a stimulus for writing as well as providing opportunities for speaking and listening and drama o enable pupils to share ideas and develop viewpoint. NQTs will consider strategies to support pupils through the writing process – from planning and composition to editing and redrafting – both in fiction and non-fiction and across the curriculum and they will understand progression and how to move pupils on in their writing.
