In this session, NQTs will have the opportunity to develop a shared understanding of progress and attainment expectations in mathematics across Key Stages 1 and 2. Participants will be given the opportunity to share and discuss the range and quality of assessment evidence in mathematics and apply this to making reliable judgements of pupil progress and attainment against age related expectations (ARE).
- To explain and give examples of what is meant by each statement in the relevant assessment framework.
- To be able to accurately assess pupils against the relevant framework to determine whether pupils are working towards ARE/meeting ARE/exceeding ARE for their year group.
- To understanding the End of Key stage requirements to inform practice in any year group.
- To describe how to design lessons and teaching to best enable pupils to achieve objectives
