NQT Conference for Early Years, KS1 and KS2 NQTs
Aspire, Inspire, Create
Aimed at newly qualified teachers, this professional development day will provide an opportunity to hear from inspiring speakers, consider recent education developments and implications, and look at ways of keeping children engaged and at the heart of classroom practice. A fantastic opportunity to network with NQT colleagues within and across 5 London authorities: Westminster, Kensington and Chelsea, Hammersmith and Fulham, Ealing and Southwark. A day to celebrate the journey travelled so far, consider what lies ahead and how early career teachers can develop creativity, remain inspired and aspirational.
The morning session will include a keynote from Mary Myatt. Mary is an education adviser, writer and speaker. She trained as an RE teacher and has also taught English, history, maths and Latin. A former local authority adviser and inspector, she works in schools talking to pupils, teachers and leaders about learning, leadership and the curriculum. She maintains that there are no quick fixes and that great outcomes for pupils are not achieved through tick boxes. Mary writes and speaks at conferences about leadership, curriculum and school improvement.
The afternoon session includes a session lead by Jonny Allams. Jonny is an experienced teaching and learning consultant who specialises in supporting schools to raise levels of pupil attainment, across a broad and balanced curriculum. He firmly believes that pupils who are motivated and engaged make huge progress.
We will also hear from Jamie Molloy, Headteacher, Viking Primary School in Ealing about what happens next after your NQT year.
