This session will explore strategies to stimulate, stretch and challenge pupils’ thinking as their knowledge and proficiency within a domain moves beyond the novice stage.
We’ll consider what is meant by ‘deep’ learning and how to incorporate opportunities for this within our planning, recognising that access to critical thinking is an entitlement for all rather than a select few. There will be a particular focus on the power of questioning and dialogue to clarify, check for understanding and for deeper learning. We’ll explore how to structure and organise collaborative learning opportunities so that dialogue is focused and rigorous.
For Autumn 2020 all NQT CPD will be delivered online using the Microsoft Teams platform.
