Assessment is a continuum and as we move along the continuum from minute-by-minute and day-to-day formative assessment it’s important to consider the design of periodic summative assessments and how best to capture a snapshot of a pupil’s performance in the subject as a whole.
This varies from subject to subject, and school to school, and this session will explore the principles underpinning effective summative assessment and a selection of methods such as standardized assessment tools and comparative judgement. No assessment is 100% reliable and it’s helpful for teachers to recognize and mitigate the limitations of assessment tools.
Please ensure that you use a school email to book any NQT CPD sessions as this will be used to provide you with the Teams link to enable you to join the online session and used for all correspondence about pre work for any session or changes relating to the training. This email should be used for NQT Manager and all correspondence with the NQT Team and CPD Co-ordinator.
PLEASE NOTE: If we are able to return to face to face training in the Spring Term, the session times will be extended to 1.30pm to 4.15pm.
No charge for schools signed up to the NQT CPD Programme Package, £90 per person for other schools.
