This training is provided by Thrive LDN and this Youth Mental Health first Aid two-day course will equip school/college staff (working with children and young people aged 8-18) with the knowledge, skills and confidence to identify and assist young people experiencing mental health issues on a first aid basis.
The course will be delivered over the 2 days in 4 manageable sessions under the headings of: about mental health; depression and anxiety; suicide and psychosis; and self-harm and eating disorders. Teaching is delivered through a mix of group-based activities, presentations and discussions. Each session will be built around a Youth MHFA action plan.
Target Audience: Members of staff working in any capacity within Primary and Secondary schools, Special Educational Needs Schools Alternative Provision Settings, Sixth Forms and Further Education colleges.
Please note to qualify as a Youth Mental Health First Aider, members of staff will need to attend both days of the 2 day training course.
This course is available to Hammersmith & Fulham state funded schools and colleges only.
