SENCO Consultancy Service

Introduction
This is a consultancy service which provides advice and support to SENCOs. The SEN Practitioner Manager has been a practicing SENCO, holds the National Award for SENCO Accreditation and has a higher level qualification in teaching and assessing pupils with specific learning difficulties. Attendance at regular training courses and at the SEN Panel ensures that the service keeps up to date with current developments and good practice in SEN locally and has knowledge of wider national initiatives.
Statutory and Core Offer
This is a specialist service, which is available to SENCOs and other professionals. It can be purchased by state maintained schools, academies, free schools, PVIs and schools from the independent sector. An annual induction programme for teachers who are new to the SENCO role takes place in the Autumn Term of each academic year. SENCO Forum meetings take place each term.
Traded Offer
SENCOs who require individualised advice and support regarding their practice for pupils with SEN can access a personalised consultancy service. This addresses the needs of SENCOs who are new in post or are new to the area and ensures that SENCos are informed of developments in the area of SEN.
